Picking your data region
Choose where your contracts are stored. Pick once at signup; you can have separate organisations in different regions if you need to.
Updated 2 Jun 2026
When you sign up, Clment asks for your country and uses it to suggest a region — the geographic area where your contracts will be stored. Your data is stored securely within the region you choose, and it stays there.
You can override the suggested region during signup if you have a specific data-residency requirement.
Available regions
- United States (
us) - Europe (
eu) - Australia (
au)
Each region is fully independent. A contract uploaded into a US organisation is never copied or replicated to the EU region, and vice versa.
How we suggest a region
- EU member states, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland → EU region
- Australia, New Zealand, Pacific island nations → AU region
- Everywhere else → US region
If your country auto-mapped to a region you don’t want — for example, your company is HQ’d in Singapore but your contracts are subject to EU data residency — pick Override region during signup.
Changing your region later
Region assignment is set at organisation creation and can’t be changed afterwards. If you need contracts in a different region:
- Create a new organisation in the desired region. You can be a member of organisations in multiple regions with a single Clment account — they appear together in the org picker with a regional chip next to each.
- For larger migrations, contact support — we can help script bulk export from one region and re-upload into another.
Cross-region sign-in
A single Clment account can belong to organisations in any combination of regions. Sign in once; the org picker shows everything you have access to and routes your session to the right region transparently.
